It's a gasket
I have had no problems with these gaskets since I bought them. I think that they are a standard size, so you might be able to pick them up locally under a different brand.
Cuisinart Gasket
The gasket fits perfectly and works fine. The package was lost in transit. There was no problem getting another one shipped out. The customer service was good.
