Best price I've found for sturdy bags
The savings made available by bulk-buying and vacuum packing can be seriously compromised by expensive or poorly made bags. I've been through several hundred of these particular bags now and am satisfied with the way they pack and hold up over time in the freezer as well as the price. The 6 x 10 six can be a little difficult to stuff a piece of meat into, but any brand would involve the same difficulty.
The fact is that for packaging a single steak, a large, boneless chicken breast or a pound of ground beef, this size represents the most practical choice for balancing "big enough" without being wasteful. I use a Weston vacuum sealer. As with any vacuum sealer, care has to be taken to smooth the bag out and make sure it extends far enough into the machine to get a proper seal.
VacMaster Pint Bags
After switching from a Food Saver vacuum system to VacMaster, I found the pint bags very convenient but hard to find in retail or outlet stores. ARY delivered promptly and I will definitely buy from them again.
