Waste King advantage
I replaced a Sink Master 1/3 HP disposer with a Waste King Legend 1/2 HP 9930. Sink Master is made by Waste King and is the cheaper model. The Sink Master had a galvinized grinding chamber which rusted out completely after 20 years but the motor still ran fine. The new Waste King has a stainless steel chamber and I expect a good 20 years or more from this unit. The direct current motor is a major advantage over other disposers. It has a higher starting and low speed torque than induction motors of the same horsepower making it virtualy stall and jam proof. Even my old 1/3 HP Sink Master didn't jam and the seals never leaked.
Highly Recommended -- get this one today to replace your old badger
When they say this one is a replacement for the insinkerator badger they are not kidding. It fits exactly in the old spot occupied w/ old one. I was worried that one cross pipe (horizontal PVC pipe) would not align as in old 3-bolt mount Badger 10, but it fit to the T, making installation a no-brainer (if it were any wider to higher/lower, then it would not have fit existing pipe). There are many instructions, but they are very detailed (in a good way) and very well written. Also there are videos online. I never installed a disposer before, but was able to get this one the first time, with no leaks or problems. Works way better than old corroded disposer.... this one is stainless steel so won't rust. Also, has a higher rpm and torque than old, even though old one was 6.7 amps, 1/2 hp, this one is 4.5 amps, 1/2 hp, so uses less power and more torque amazing. This brand is way better quality than insinkerator. Light weight. Just couldn't ask for better. To me sound is about...
