Scary sharp mirror edges
I'm incredibly happy with this product. A lot of people have knocked the stones that are included. I don't see any issues with the stones whatsoever. They work great. The only minor nit-pick is the plastic backing for the stones - don't tighten them too tight or it can bend the plastic and pull the stone off of the plastic.
The first knife I used on this machine to test it out was an old, cheap pocket knife with a low quality 440 stainless blade. I've never been able to get a sharp blade on it. I've used a lot of different sharpening tools on it. It took me a while with this machine but it has a mirror polish and is incredibly sharp now. I then tried a knife with a higher quality stainless blade that has a little nicer edge already and it got scary sharp very quickly.
I'm ecstatic about this sharpening system. Thinking about ordering a bunch and giving them as presents for christmas.

The stock stone plastic backing plates are pure junk.
The course stone I received needed to be leveled on 120grit wet-dry sanding paper
The stock stones readily clog in part because the plastic backing plates prevent the application of enough pressure so the stock stones crack.
One option could be to make some aluminum backing plates of the same dimension with the stock stones.
A better option is to invest in some Shapton wetstones and this product will really perform well see: chefknivestogo dot com/shprostforep.html
I suggest 500, 1000 and perhaps a 4000 Shapton stone
Add an a angle cube AccuRemote Digital Electronic Magnetic Angle Gage Level / Protractor / Bevel Gauge and your knives will have an amazing precision-angle-edge

Really a bargain....Works like a charm. I would like to buy some extra stones if possible!...I rate this product a 10+
