Lasko 3743 20" Weather-Shield Premium Plus Box Fan

Surprisingly Quiet!
Most box fans do not have the corners covered as this one does. Uncovered corners allow a lot of air backwash, reducing the efficiency of the fan considerably. That's why I chose this one, but I was worried about noisiness because of previous experience with Lasko.
I was happy to find that this model is remarkably quiet. My old one on the "1" setting is louder than this one is on the "2" setting. This one is a keeper!

Had this fan for 8 years - still going strong with daily use!
This fan has been running for the last 8 years in our home and we have been using it daily for last 4-5 years for 8-10 hours a day and it is still going strong. As it is weathershield it can sit in a window ledge too. In Seattle, it is the perfect fan for summer especially if you have windows that cannot fit the window fans as they slide horizontally. It is fairly quiet and helps create white noise that drowns out outdoor noise due to open windows. I never thought that a fan at this price point would last this long but it has. It is the perfect size for a bedroom or smaller living room. I think it creates more breeze than some of the smaller vornado fans as it has 20" blades.

get what you pay for
The price was low so I tried it. It does the job but I doubt if it will last all that long. But I can afford to buy several at the price. It is thin and therefoe does not feel rel stable. it is a little noisy partly because of being a little flimsy. But it worked to help dry out a basement from a major water leak and that is all I needed.
