Perfection!
I feel like a Microwave connoisseur, I have been through so many. Single guy here, I have a back up microwave for when one goes out if that tells you anything. I use a microwave 99% of the time so I feel qualified to judge a microwave. :") This one is the top of the Microwave chain, it can take a lot of use, it's EASY to use, responsive and is attractive in the kitchen. It's HUGE and will hold anything, so make sure you want a very large Microwave before purchasing. I wouldn't change a thing on this microwave! Thanks for perfecting the microwave Panasonic!
Most likely the best oven and the best value.
Prior to buying this model I read most of the reviews here for both Panasonic and Sharp in the 1.6 & 2.2 cu ft sizes. I imagine you're doing the same routine. By now you're skeptical about the Panasonic because of the door design and failures reported after limited use. Don't be. Every product made has some percentage of failed items. It looks like if the Panasonic makes it past a couple of years, you're good for a solid 10 - 15 years of trouble free service. Just get the Square Trade warranty and treat the door and latch with a little respect. Simple. So, a couple of things: this model replaced a Panasonic that we had for over 12 years. It finally died. The control panel on that one was laid out just the same as the new one. The thing is laid out logically and is intuitive. Whether one thinks this or that button, or sequence of how to program something is 'good' depends on what they're used to...so you can ignore other folks comments about that. You get used to what you have to work...
Please, just don't
Dear America -
I feel duty-bound to inform you that this is the single worst appliance money can buy, and it is paired with some of the worst customer service one can encounter. Simply put, the user interface design is defective. Attempting to use the touch-screen wheel to enter an amount of cook time is cumbersome, inconvenient, and inefficient. It takes about 15 seconds to get the dial set to "15 seconds," in essence doubling the amount of time you need to nuke some baby food. Moreover, the door latch (as others have reported) is beyond faulty. It takes the strength of ten men to close this thing, and unless you do close the door with the appropriate force, the microwave simply won't power up.
Finally, and to add insult to injury, our unit simply stopped functioning within one year -- the warranty period. I'd say about half the time we attempt to start heating something, the microwave simply blinks back at us, dumb and unresponsive. You can imagine how...
